'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' boyfriend ready to 'Run' with ABC

Marc Blucas and Liza Lapira join Amy Smart in 'See Cate Run'

ABC has cast Marc Blucas and Liza Lapira in key supporting roles in the drama pilot ""See Cate Run."

We keep describing "See Cate Run" (formerly "I, Claudia") as "Jack & Bobby"-esque,because it focuses on C.C. (Amy Smart), a young prosecuting attorney, who has no idea that some day she'll be a contender for the presidency.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Blucas will play a campaign guru who sees potential in C.C., while Lapira will play the main character's roommate.

Best known for his run as Riley Finn on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," Blucas has most recently been seen in "The Jane Austen Book Club" and "Meet Dave."

Lapira's credits include "NCIS," "Dexter" and "21." She'll also be seen in the upcoming "Fast & Furious."

In other ABC casting news, Dean Winters ("30 Rock") has been cast in the "Twin Peaks"-esque drama "Happy Town," about a small community facing a rash of kidnappings. Winters will play a man whose daughter was kidnapped years earlier.

Also at ABC, Jamie Ray Newman ("Veronica Mars") will play one of the leads in "Witches of Eastwick," while Victoria Cartwright will play a supporting role.
