Breaking: Fox renews 'Dollhouse'
Fans can rejoice Joss Whedon's Sc-Fi drama returns for second season
Eliza Dushku in a scene from "Dollhouse"
In somewhat of a surprise, Fox has renewed Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" for a second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the news will not be official announced until Monday, but sources tell the trade its a done deal.
While the Eliza Dushku drama has had low ratings in its Friday night slot, it's DVR and online streaming numbers are strong. Word is Fox executives like the series and feel it will bring nice ancillary revenue to sister company-studio 20th Television. One thing that is still not clear is when the series will begin airing new episodes. It is possible it will not bow until midseason. "Dollhouse" debuted in February of this year.
