Christina Applegate 'Going the Distance' with Barrymore
Star quickly moves on after 'Samantha Who?' cancellation

Quickly recovering from the cancelation of "Samantha Who?" Christina Applegate has found her first movie role since last year's little seen "The Rocker." According to Marc Malkin of E!Online, Applegate is set to star alongside Drew Barrymore and Justin Long in the romantic comedy "Going the Distance."
Applegate will play the big sister to Barrymore's character who is involved in a long-distance relationship with Justin Long (rumored to be her on again boyfriend in real life).
Also joining the cast is Charlie Day ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") as a friend of Long's character.
While "Who?" airs original episodes throughout the summer, the critical hit was not renewed by ABC. Applegate will be heard this December as a voice in "Alvin in the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel" which also stars Long as, um, Alvin.
"Going the Distance" is expected to begin production July 15 in New york City.
