AMC crosses 'Rubicon'

AMC has given a greenlight to "Rubicon," a new conspiracy thriller series.
The hour-long, 12-episode drama marks the third original series order from AMC. The first two, "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad," have done pretty well for themselves.
Created by Jason Horwitch ("Medical Investigation"), "Rubicon" focuses on an analyst for a New York City think tank who stumbles upon a clue that opens the door to some sort of vast, unfolding global conspiracy.
"Rubicon" stars James Badge Dale ("24") and the supporting cast features Lili Taylor, Dallas Roberts, Jessica Collins, Arliss Howard and Miranda Richardson.
"This script is an iconic project for us in that it underscores AMC's brand promise of 'Story Matters Here,' combining great storytelling with a world that hasn't been explored on television before," says Joel Stillerman, AMC's SVP for original programming, production and digital content, in a statement. "Think tanks are inherently mysterious places with murky agendas, and it's a great setting for a show like this. Jason's understanding of the conspiracy thriller genre is evident in a plot reminiscent of some great films like 'Three Days of the Condor' and 'The Parallax View.' We're thrilled to have a world class cast, director, and production team to bring this series to life."
The "Rubicon" pilot was shot on location in New York City and directed by Allen Coulter, who helmed many memorable episodes of "The Sopranos," as well as the pilots for "Nurse Jackie," "Sons of Anarchy" and "Damages."
