ABC's "Cougar Town" has temporarily shutdown production.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the freshman comedy was halted last week. The expect specifics of the shutdown are unclear, though ABC told the trade paper that the pause was due to a "private family matter" involving star Courteney Cox.
Thus far, none of our usual favorite celebrity sites have managed to dig up the dirt. We probably don't need to know anyway, "private" and all.
"Cougar Town" was already scheduled to take a Thanksgiving production pause this week, but it has yet to be determined when shooting will resume.
One of the key pieces of ABC's strong Wednesday comedy block, "Cougar Town" has already been picked up for a full season and with several episodes already in the can, this shutdown would have an impact on program airdates for a while at least.
[UPDATE: Busy Philipps tweets that "Cougar Town" was actually only shut down for one day and that the series will resume production after the Thanksgiving holiday.]
