ABC will be bringing "Ugly Betty" back a week earlier than previously scheduled.

The network announced on Monday (April 20) that "Ugly Betty" will return to its Thursday schedule on Thursday, April 30 with an episode titled "Rabbit Test."

"Ugly Betty" will then air new episodes on May 7 and May 14, followed by a two-hour season finale on May 21.

ABC pulled "Ugly Betty," which has traditionally failed to draw substantial repeat audiences, for new episodes of "Samantha Who?" and "In the Motherhood," which haven't exactly improved things in the Thursday 8 p.m. time slot.

The official ABC press release on the "Ugly Betty" re-premiere merely says that "In the Motherhood" and "Samantha Who?" "will return to the schedule at a future date."

We normally don't trust networks when they say that, especially since "In the Motherhood" and "Samantha Who?" would seem to only have one additional episode apiece. However, ABC has already scheduled Summer Burn-Off Theater for unaired episodes of "Pushing Daisies," "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money," so anything could happen.
