<p>Not every horror franchise reboot has worked, but after you watch this new preview you'll be counting the days to the new <a href="../../../events/a-nightmare-on-elm-street" target="_self">"Nightmare on Elm Street." </a>Director Samuel Bayer and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes productions has taken the franchise back to its horrifying roots. This if far from the campy and ludicrous "Freddy vs. Jason" from 2003.<br /><br />Pretty much the same footage that blew audiences away at <a href="../../../articles/2009-7-27-comic-con-a-nightmare-on-elm-street-re-make-gets-very-serious" target="_blank">Comic-Con</a> this past july, the new trailer provides a more sympathetic origin of Freddy Krueger and demonstrates why Jackie Earle Haley was the perfect choice to play him. His victims? Another round of good looking twentysomethings including "The Twilight Saga's" Kellan Lutz, Rooney Mara, "The Haunting in Conneticut's" Kyle Gallner, "The Sarah Connor Chronicle's" Thomas Dekker and the new "Melrose Place's" Katie Cassidy.<br /><br />HitFix's Daniel Fienberg provided some behind-the-scenes details from his set visit this spring a few months ago which you can view <a href="../../../articles/2009-7-22-set-visit-preview-a-nightmare-on-elm-street" target="_blank">here,</a> but in the meantime just enjoy the new trailer below.<br /><a href="../../../events/a-nightmare-on-elm-street" target="_self"><br />"A Nightmare on Elm Street"</a> hits theaters April 30, 2010.
