This weekend's box office is setting up to be a showdown between Bruce Willis' "Surrogates" and the reboot of the performing arts drama "Fame."  The young bucks are going against a longtime action star, but MGM and Lakeshore, who produced the remake, are hoping a strong teen turnout makes "Fame" a surprise hit.

The new "Fame" doesn't have the pedigree Alan Parker's original 1982, but it does feature some familiar faces.  Veteran actors Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, Bebe Neuwirth and Charles S. Dutton are on board as teachers at New York City's High School of Performing Arts.  And just for good measure,  a star of the original film, Debbie Allen, returns as the school's principal.  But that's not all.  "So You Think You Can Dance's" Khernington Payne makes her big screen debut in the picture and Naturi Naughton may have scored a major recording career with her vocal performances in the flick.

In an eye-brow raising move, MGM released eight clips from the film that are all performance based.  Little dialogue, but lots of dancing and singing.  And on that note, the kid's ain't half bad.  Check out the clips below and judge for yourself.

"Fame" opens nationwide everywhere on Friday.
