Tenacious D -- comprising of superstar comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass -- will be performing at the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco on Aug. 30, a headlining slot previously occupied by Beastie Boys. Katie Hasty <p>Tenacious D -- comprising of superstar comedian Jack Black and Kyle Gass -- will be performing at the <a href="../../../site/search?q=outside+lands&amp;type=events&amp;sort=date" target="_self">Outside Lands music festival</a> in San Francisco on Aug. 30, a headlining slot previously occupied by Beastie Boys.</p> <p>The duo has been largely quiet since the release of the movie and soundtrack to "The Pick of Destiny" in 2006, and a subsequent tour in 2007. Black, of course has been acting in and lending his voice to movies like "Year One," "Kung Fu Panda" and "Tropic Thunder" since then. Tenacious D also released a DVD last year, "The Complete Masterworks 2,"&nbsp;chronicling the "Pick Of Destiny" tour and its crash-and-burn at the box office.</p> <p>As previously reported, the Beastie Boys had to cancel several tour and festival appearances due to Adam "MCA" Yauch's cancer diagnosis.
