Jon Hamm takes Zack Snyder's 'Sucker Punch'

Jon Hamm is set to add a little testosterone to the cast of Zack Snyder's female empowerment action-fantasy "Sucker Punch."

Set in the 1950s, "Sucker Punch" stars Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish and Carla Gugino and focuses on a young woman (Browning) confined to a mental institution. Facing possible lobotomy, the girl, and her friends, go into an alternate reality and begin to plot their escape.

The Hollywood Reporter has little to add about Hamm's character except to say that his name is High Roller. Make of that what you will.

"Sucker Punch," Snyder's follow-up to "Watchmen," is set up through Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. 

Hamm is completing work on this third season of "Mad Men," which drew 2.8 million viewers in its Sunday (Aug. 16) premiere. He's then lined up one of the leads in the Ben Affleck-directed crime thriller "The Town," which will shoot in Boston starting next month. Hamm's work on "Sucker Punch," which will shoot in Vancouver, will follow.
