ABC Family has picked up an additional 10 episodes of the gymnastics drama "Make It or Break It."

The pickup will technically count as part of the drama's first season, bringing the initial run to 20 total episodes.

"Make It or Break It" stars Chelsea Hobbs, Ayla Kell, Josie Loren, Cassie Scerbo, Zachary Burr Abel, Peri Gilpin, Candace Cameron Bure and Susan Ward and focuses on a group of teen gymnasts as they train for their Olympic dream (while also dealing with the usual issues like religion, underaged drinking, premarital sex and pizza flipping). Episodes are currently airing on Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET.

"I'm thrilled to be announcing the pick-up of our latest hit, ‘Make It or Break It.’ This show just roared out of the gate with its smart mix of rivalry and romance," says ABC Family President Paul Lee. "Our Millennial audience just loves its great cast and addictive plotlines, and like our viewers, I can't wait to see what happens next."

Created by Holly Sorensen, "Make It or Break It" will continue airing its first 10 episodes through the summer and will return with new episodes in the first quarter of 2010.

The drama is averaging 2.1 million viewers per episode, making it ABC Family's No. 2 original series of all-time. "Make It or Break It" has been winning its time slot among female teens and finishing as cable's top show among females 12-34.

    • I have two children in gymnastics. My son, Bergen and daughter, Emalee. Emalee is very competetive and is competing in the Disney Sports Complex this coming January 2010. She is very good. We take this sport seriously. It is hard work and discipline - many life lessons are contained in this sport. We LOVE Make It Or Break It. We cancel everything (except Gymnastics which thankfully is not Monday nights!) to watch this show. Thank you for finally creating a show that celebrates the power, skill and life lessons of Gymnastics. Ava Oleson
