Robert Buckley has reportedly been cast on The CW's "One Tree Hill," taking on the regular role previously earmarked for Brian Austin Green.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Buckley will now play Clayton, the brash sports agent to James Lafferty's Nathan Scott, who was called up to the NBA in this past "One Tree Hill" finale.

The trade paper says that although Green was in talks for the role, a deal just couldn't be reached. Internet reports have suggested, though, that the "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" co-star had second thoughts about returning to his "Beverly Hills, 90210" teen soap roots. Both versions of the story could still be true.

Buckley had a talent holding deal with "OTH" producer Warner Brothers TV and will be one of at least two new cast members on the seventh "One Tree Hill" season. Austin Nichols, previously a guest star, will be upped to regular status for next season, following the departure of original regulars Chad Michael Murray and Hilarie Burton.

If you recognize Burton, it's probably either from his role as Kirby on NBC's "Lipstick Jungle" and a multi-episode stint on The CW's "Privileged."

It's unclear where this leaves The Notorious B.A.G. for next season. While online campaigning continues for Green's CW pilot "Body Politic" to gain a midseason berth, he looks to the fall without a regular series gig.
