Is Mickey Rourke making up for lost time? It appears so. Today, it was revealed Rourke finally convinced Marvel Studios to pay Hollywood's comeback kid a higher salary to play the villain in Jon Favreau's "Iron Man 2." Now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Rourke is attaching himself to yet another project, "Passion Plays."
Written and directed by Mitch Glazer ("The Recruit"), the indie financed flick's storyline is being kept under wraps, but the film will have a prominent female lead cast opposite Rourke.
Since gaining universal acclaim for "The Wrestler," Rourke has signed onto a number of pictures including Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables," the Walter Hill thriller "St. Vincent" and the Indian gangster movie "Broken Heroes." He'll also appear later this year in Senator Entertainment's "The Informers" which received some of the worst reviews of January's Sundance Film Festival.
No word on when "Passion" will go into production, but it would have to occur after "Iron Man 2" completes shooting early this summer.
