On the heels of the "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" release in September, Mariah Carey has made only four public concert appeances. On New Year's Eve, at the very least, she'll have made five.

Fans may want to stretch out their typing and clicking hands: the diva will be taking the stage on Dec. 31 at New York's Madison Square Garden, with tickets going on pre-sale on Monday (Nov. 9) and general onsale on Nov. 14. Only those paying members of the fanclub will have access to presale; no word yet how expensive tickets in general will be.

Carey has announced no other openers, though a release said she will be playing plenty of material form "Memoirs."

Mariah peformed four times at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas earlier this fall, twice in September and twice in October. While she has not been traditionally known as a touring artist, it'd be interesting to see if performing more often would have helped sales of "Memoirs," which suffered in the sales department as far as Carey's album output goes. She was beaten out in the first sales week by Barbra Streisand and Paramore.

In other Mariah Carey news, the singer also has a role in "Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire," the film out today. You can buy your tickets here. Check out photos of her and other stars like Will Smith at the "Precious" premiere here. The soundtrack to Precious is already available online and will be released on CD on Nov. 23; Carey is not included on the soundtrack, though other stars like Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah are.
