CBS has ordered additional episodes of the freshman comedy "Accidentally on Purpose," also known as "That Jenna Elfman Show That Airs Between 'How I Met Your Mother' and the Popular 9 p.m. CBS Comedies."

To be more specific, "Accidentally on Purpose" has been ordered for an additional five episodes, which is a vote of confidence, but not nearly the vote of confidence a full back-nine order would have been. As it stands, the first season of "Accidentally on Purpose" would be 18 episodes, short of the 22 episodes that usually make up a full run, but two more than the 16 episodes aired for last season's unrenewed "Worst Week."

For the season, "Accidentally on Purpose" is averaging 8.04 million viewers and a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demo, usually retaining most of its "How I Met Your Mother" lead-in. CBS boasts that Monday's (Nov. 2) episode matched season highs among adults 18-34 with a 2.5 rating.

"Accidentally on Purpose" stars Jenna Elfman, Ashley Jensen, Jon Foster, Grant Show, Lennon Parham and Nicolas Wright.
