Fast National ratings for Sunday, November 29, 2009.

An overtime win for the Baltimore Ravens over the Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers helped carry NBC to a relatively easy Sunday night ratings victory.

Meanwhile, the night's most notable (or different) piece or original programming, CBS' telefilm "A Dog Named Christmas," drew a respectable, but old audience, as the network's end-of-Sunday hours continued to be a demographic drag.

Among adults 18-49, NBC averaged a 5.4 rating, beating the 4.2 rating for FOX in the key demographic. ABC's 3.1 rating was good for third, while CBS spent the night in fourth place with a 2.6 rating.

Overall, NBC averaged nearly 14 million viewers in primetime to go with an 8.4 rating/13 share. Although it trailed overall, CBS finished second overall with a 7.8/12. ABC's 6.2/10 and the 5.5/8 for FOX trailed.

CBS began the night in first with a 9.0/14 for "60 Minutes." FOX was second with a 7.7/12 for NFL overrun, which also won the hour in the 18-49 demo with a 4.9 rating. ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" was third overall with a 4.8/8, nipping NBC's "Football Night in America."

The start of the Ravens-Steelers game gave NBC a 9.5/14 in the 8 p.m. hour to go with a 5.9 rating in the 18-49 demo. CBS' "The Amazing Race" had a 6.8/10 for second. ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" finished third, beating the 4.6/7 for FOX's "The Simpsons" and "The Cleveland Show," which also had a 3.8 rating to finish second in the demo.

In the 9 p.m. hour, NBC's football improved to a 9.9/15. ABC's "Desperate Housewives" finished second with a 7.9/12. CBS' "A Dog Named Christmas" was a close third with a 7.5/11, but the telefilm's 2.0 rating in the demo was fourth for the hour. FOX was fourth overall with "Family Guy" and "American Dad."

NBC closed primetime in first with a 9.8/16 for the football game. CBS' movie was second overall with a 7.9/13, but last in the demo. ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" had a 5.9/10 for third.

All ratings information comes from preliminary Fast National Nielsen data, which includes live and same-day DVR viewing. All numbers are subject to change, particularly in the case of live events.
