Brad Pitt has rarely dipped his toe into the world of Science-Fiction.  Sure, he appeared in Terry Gilliam's "Twelve Monkeys," but that's about it.  Instead he's had fun in period epics like "Troy" or the occasional drama with fantastical elements like "Meet Joe Black" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."  Now, Pitt may be teasing his fans by developing a big screen version of the upcoming Capcom video game "Dark Void."  Will he actually star in it?

According to Variety, the video game centers on a pilot on a routine mission who crash lands in the Bermuda Triangle.  When he awakes, he finds himself in an alternate world similar to a centuries old earth where aliens are planning on taking over the planet.

No screenwriter or studio is on board yet, but Pitt's Plan B will develop the project independently with Indian conglomerate Reliance.  As this is the first deal to come out of the two companies development agreement don't be surprised if Pitt actually moves forward with this project to make his new business partners happy.

The only film currently on Pitt's upcoming release slate is Terrence Malick's "The Tree of Life."  That drama should be released sometime in 2010.

"Dark Void" is currently scheduled to be released as a video game in January.
