Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 26, 2009.

ABC capitalized on CBS' full lineup of repeats (plus the absence of "House") to easily control Monday night in most key measures, as even "Castle" was able to hit season highs.

Among adults 18-49, ABC averaged a 3.4 rating, topping the 3.0 rating for CBS and FOX's 2.5 rating. NBC's 1.9 rating and the 1.2 rating for The CW followed in the key demographic.

Overall, ABC averaged an estimated 15.52 million viewers to go with a 10.2 rating/16 share, routing the 6.1/9 for second place CBS. FOX was a distant third with a 3.7/6, nipping the 3.5/5 for NBC. The CW's 1.6/2 trailed.

ABC started the night in first with an 11.0/17 for "Dancing with the Stars," more than twice the total for CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" and "Accidentally on Purpose" repeats. ABC even won the 18-49 demo with a 3.4 rating for the hour. NBC was third with a 3.7/6 for "Heroes," which beat the 3.6/5 for FOX's "So You Think You Can Dance" Top 20 showcase. The CW's "One Tree Hill" had a 1.7/3.

"Dancing with the Stars" improved to a 12.0/18 in the 9 p.m. hour, also giving ABC a 4.0 rating in the demo. CBS' "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory" were second with a 6.8/10 overall and a 3.5 demo rating. FOX's "Lie to Me," without its "House" lead-in, had a 3.8/6, only barely beating NBC's "Trauma." On The CW, "Gossip Girl" did a 1.5/2.

At 10 p.m. ABC can celebrate a win with a 7.5/12 for "Castle," even if a repeat of "CSI: Miami" (7.3/12) actually drew more viewers and a higher demo rating. NBC's "The Jay Leno Show," which was supposed to begin to show its strength against repeats on other networks, actually drew a series low with 4.62 million viewers and a 1.3 demo rating.

    • I love dancing with the stars: But the judges expect toooo much from these no pro dancers and are way too critical. Each season could there be new judges these are getting too boring and predicitable. But a great show for the most part.
